Kung foo Jenni saves the world from petty crime.. one leaflet at a time :)

So this post will not make sense unless i tell you i run community garden projects.. but i think it will make you all laugh...

So... I turn up at my project to find it has been broken into during the holidays! Bad times... my project has been mostly made by children which makes it particularly sad!

I do my rounds with a leaflet drop advertising my next volunteer day

First thing... i post a leaflet.. dog goes mad and nearly takes hand off... owner shouts at me for posting leaflet...

Then I speak to a lovely man who tells me his genius plan to prevent further break ins.... wait for this you may want to use this if you are having similar petty crime issues ;)

First borrow a big torch from a lovely retired man... then lurk in the dark waiting for petty criminals... blind them with the light and beat them with a spade.

So... i declined the big torch and genius plan... was worried it might be covered in blood from his previous victims ;)

Sat outside the garden phoning the police, no sooner as a hang up i see a young man.. peering over my fence clearly about to break in....

what do i do? beat him with trowel? kung foo his face? cower and phone the police?

Oh no!! i strolled right up to the man (im 5 foot and fat, he was 6 ft and full of muscle!)

i hand him a leaflet and say 'are you interested in the community garden project? would you like to volunteer'
i get 'erm, yes just spotted it and wondered what it was'
i say i dont suppose you have seen anyone getting in have you? someone keeps breaking in and stealing and its been built mostly by local children'
'erm no?' ' well if you do give me a call on the number of the leaflet!'

he looks terrified... it is hilarious... i scared a young man, with a leaflet!

and on top of this crime fighting and two hour leaflet drop, i managed a 35 min swim and a circuit class....

seriously proud ;)
